Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Vikla, 90
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Vikla, 90, of Montgomery, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with Rosary at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian
Services will be on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom Niehaus officiating with visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. at church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Betty was born on November 30, 1929, to Thomas and Anna (Ginter) Simacek in Montgomery. Betty was united in marriage to Emmanuel Albert Vikla at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on October 2, 1948.
Betty worked as a nanny in Florida previous to marriage and part-time at Green Giant Canning Factory in Montgomery.
Betty was a member of the Montgomery American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, CCW member, and Degree of Honor.
Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading, card playing, she did much volunteering with the bloodmobile, poppy drive and working at the American Legion in Montgomery.
Betty is survived by her children, Tony Vikla of Lonsdale, Cathy Vikla of Faribault, and Margie Mach of Montgomery; grandchildren, Michelle (John) Dunkel, Willie (Jessica) Vikla, and Becky Vikla; great-grandchildren, Brooke Forte, Colby Dunkel, Hailey Dunkel, Sami Dunkel, and Isabel Vikla; siblings, Bernard (Judy) Simacek of Lonsdale and Rosie Bethke of Faribault; sister-in-law, Rita Simacek of Inver Grove Heights.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmanuel; son, Thomas Vikla; daughter-in-law, Sheila Vikla; son-in-law, Robert Mach; brother, Donald Simacek; sister, Alvina Terwedo.
