Georgina Beatrice Barta, 99

Georgina Beatrice Barta, age 99, of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023 at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 14 from 9:30 -11 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating.  Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Georgina was born March 26, 1924, in Wheatland Township to John and Bessie (Trcka) Flicek. She attended country school in Wheatland Township. Georgina was united in marriage to Benjamin “Ben” E. Barta on November 29, 1941, in Faribault. She enjoyed time with her family- children and grandchildren, cooking, gardening, sewing, and music.

Georgina is survived by children, Mary Ann (Leonard) Kaisersatt of Montgomery, Ben F. Barta of Montgomery, Irene Ellman of New Prague and Janet Barta of New Prague; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Bartusek of Webster, Betty Ann (Joe) Ziskovsky of Lonsdale, Donna (Ron) Dols of New Prague; grand-son-in-law, Darrell Kes (Kathy Ellman †).

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie; husband, Ben E. Barta; brother, Elmer (Marion) Flicek; sisters, Lorraine (Myles) Adamek, and Lillian (Joe) Havlicek; sons-in-law, Kenneth Ellman and Elmer Bartusek; daughter-in-law, Shirley Barta; nephews, Gerald Ziskovsky, Elmer Bartusek Jr. and Elmer Flicek Jr.; granddaughter, Kathy Ellman.
