On May 23, 1935, Nancy was born in Mankato. She was the first of six children, born to parents Frederick and Evelyn (Wohlford) Krueger. She attended country school and high school in Le Center. She met the love of her life, Paul Vollmar, in the summer of 1955. Over the next several years, their love flourished. On May 4, 1957, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Le Center, Paul and Nancy exchanged wedding vows. They settled in Montgomery.

Nancy dedicated each day to raising her children: Larry, Karen and Paul Jr. Nancy worked side-by-side with her husband, Paul at their resort in Ontario, Canada. With a family business, Nancy was able to have her family all together. Being able to be together was very important to her.

Nancy had a bright personality that brought together guests, family and friends alike.

She is fondly remembered for her wonderful cooking and delicious banana cakes. She never forgot a birthday or family event. Nancy’s home was always full of food, family, and laughter. She spent many hours sewing, quilting, and canning.

Every spring, the family came together and tapped maple trees. It brought the entire family together, and at the end of the season, Nancy made it family tradition to celebrate together.

Nancy had a strong faith in God and this shined brightly in her character. She was caring, kind and generous. Nancy carried on her German family tradition of having oyster stew during the holiday season. Every year she would make sure her family was well fed using her precious turkey plates, a tradition that will be carried on.

Forever loved, Nancy will be missed by her beloved husband, Paul Sr.; children, Larry (Cindy) Vollmar, Karen (Jim) Reddemann, and Dr. Paul Jr. (special friend, Jean); grandchildren, Jennifer (Rory) Theis, Matthew (Mikaela) Vollmar, Zachary, Katherine, and Annica Reddemann; great-grandchild, Briggs Theis; siblings, Galen (Carol) Krueger, and Glen Krueger; many nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Leroy Tiede and Gerald Tobias.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Tiede, Lois Tobias, Alice Flaten; and brother-in-law, Arden Flaten.
