Patricia Ann (Rotter) Wells, 76

Patricia Ann (Rotter) Wells of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly on February 20 at the age of 76.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Feb. 28 starting at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 7th Street, NW, New Brighton. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Pat was born in Montgomery. She graduated from Montgomery High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in medical terminology. After she graduated, she went to Europe for three months, which fueled her love of travel.

She was employed with the U of M/Fairview Health Care Systems for her entire career where she formed many lifelong friendships.

When her husband, Norm, was diagnosed with colon cancer, she was a faithful and dedicated caregiver during his six-year battle. She was also influential in founding the Minnesota Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation with Norm. It was her passion to continue the work there and support their research.

Pat was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a breast cancer survivor, and she showed amazing resilience when she lost Norm and daughter, Kim, within a short period of time.

She is survived by her son, Kyle (Kristi) Wells; brother, Bob (Barb) Rotter; brother-in-law, DeWayne Tuma; son-in-law, Mike Kramer; beloved grandsons, Kellen and Liam Kramer; and many nephews and nieces.

Pat is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Norman; daughter, Kim (Wells) Kramer; sister, Deanna (Rotter) Tuma; and parents, Reynold and Elsie Rotter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation, www.minnesotacolorectal.org
