Police chase ends with one arrest

One man was arrested and two avoided arrest when they fled authorities in a high-speed chase through Montgomery on August 18.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. the Montgomery Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a stolen motor vehicle in the area of Fir Avenue NW. The vehicle did not stop and attempted to flee the area. The Montgomery Police Department pursued the vehicle north on Second Street NW, East onto Boulevard Avenue NW, and Fifth Street SE onto Hwy 21.

The subject vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.

According to Montgomery Police, three occupants exited the vehicle on Hwy 21 and fled on foot. A search was conducted for these individuals by the Montgomery Police Department, Le Sueur County Sheriffs Office, Le Center Police Department, MN State Patrol and MN State Patrol Helicopter, Rice County Sheriffs Office, and the Nicollet County Sheriffs Office.

Timothy Adam Chambers, 20, was located and arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and fleeing a peace officer. The other two occupants were not located.

In a statement, Police Chief Nathan Hintz said he does not believe there is an immediate danger to the public.
