Steven “Steve” Lee Jakes, 65

Steven “Steve” Lee Jakes of Williston, ND, formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away on November 29, 2024, in Minot, ND, at the age of 65. Steve will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Steve grew up in Montgomery, MN, graduating from MLHS in 1977 and by 2011, after many years in the workforce, he had settled in Williston, ND, where he enjoyed working alongside his brother, Ken.

He was a man of quiet observation, often taking everything in and finding humor in it. Steve’s perfectly timed jokes were subtle, sharp, and always memorable. This dry wit, coupled with his gentle nature was a cherished part of who he was to his loved ones.

Steve is survived by his loving siblings, Marvin Jr. (Mary) Jakes of Montgomery, David (Cindy) Jakes of Montgomery and Kenneth Jakes of Montgomery along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Sr. and Irene Jakes and his sister, Sandy Sticha.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Happy Hour Bar in Montgomery, MN. This gathering will commemorate what would have been his 66^th birthday.
