TCU seeks input on facilities strategic master plan

Tri-City United School’s Facility Master Planning Advisory Committee is seeking public input on their strategic master plan.

In 2023, a 29-member, cross-community Facility Master Planning Advisory Committee met over the course of nine meetings, culminating in a final report to the TCU School Board. Since then, the board has worked to develop a strategic master plan. They now need your input as this work continues to shape future facility decisions across the school district’s three communities.

Some of the committee’s recommendations in the report to the board in 2023 included TCU branding, bringing back career exploration, and water drainage issues in the TCU Le Center parking lot — these items have been remedied already or are in progress. However, there are other items identified as possible projects, such as reconfiguring and updating the cafeteria at the Montgomery elementary school, repurposing the auditoriums at the Le Center and Montgomery elementary schools, expanding the elementary school capacity in Lonsdale, moving competition tennis courts from Le Center to the high school, adding artificial turf at the football field, and more.

During these forums, they will share an update on school district facility planning, present high-level facility assessment information, and gather input by listening and collecting facility-related feedback from the community. All input gathered will be shared with district leadership after each forum.

The three forums, of which you only need to attend one, are: Thursday, March 13, at TCU Le Center; Tuesday, March 18, at TCU Lonsdale; and Wednesday, March 19, at TCU Montgomery. The public forums run from 6-7:30 p.m. at each elementary school’s media center.
