William “Bill” Schultz, 89

William “Bill” Schultz, age 89, of Montgomery (formerly of Belle Plaine, Aitkin, and Eagan) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 5, 2020.

Bill was born April 17, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI to Edward and Edna Schultz. After High School he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Bill married Marlene Wiesner on December 4, 1954.

He began his career with North Central Airlines in Milwaukee prior to transferring to Minneapolis in 1958 and moving to Eagan in 1961. Bill was a charter member of the Eagan Fire Department and served as Fire Chief from 1967 – 1977. He was also an active member at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Bill retired from Republic Airlines as Director of Crew Scheduling in 1986.

After retirement, Bill and Marlene moved to a lake home in Aitkin and lived there for 7 years before moving to Belle Plaine to be closer to their family. Together they also spent almost 20 years wintering in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Bill loved his family very much and enjoyed attending the Grandchildren’s concerts, recitals, plays, 4-H county fair competitions, and sporting events. He built doll houses for his Granddaughters and loved operating his model train layout with his Grandsons. Bill was a participating member with The Lion’s Club and at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. He also spent his time volunteering with several organizations including the local Food Shelf, Library, Home to Home Thrift Store, and Meals on Wheels.

Forever loved and missed by his wife of 65 years, Marlene; children Dale (Michele) Schultz of Savage, Diane (Troy) Domine of Le Center; Grandchildren Erich, Drew, Greg, Laura, Adria, Garrett, Gunner, Tayte; Great-Grandchildren Blake, Titus, Brinley, Weston.
