Wilcox approved as county medical director
The Le Sueur County Board approved the medical director agreement with Dr. Michael Wilcox during the Tuesday, March 5 meeting in Le Center.
Wilcox has been involved in providing emergency medical services to the county for many years. This agreement, which includes a fee of $500, will allow Wilcox to act as medical director for the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Training Center and provide consultation.
In other Le Sueur County Board business:
* A renewal of a consumption and display permit was approved for the Caribou Gun Club in Le Sueur.
* The first of four new fulltime dispatchers in the sheriff’s office was approved. Hayley Prchal has been hired effective April 1. According to Sheriff Brett Mason, three other dispatcher positions will also be added due to the new justice center.
* Holly Kalbus has been granted regular status as the county’s Environmental Resources Specialist in the Environmental Service Water Planning Department. Kalbus recently completed her one year probation period. Commissioner Steve Rohlfing said the county is lucky to have her, citing outstanding work on recent projects.
* The board approved a three-year contract license renewal at a cost of $4,732.54 for maintenance of the software which county telecommuters use. Technology Director Jeff Neisen said 57 employees have used this software.
* The board approved a three-year contract with MAXIMUS, which helps the county maintain full and accurate records dealing with such items as accounting, payroll records, purchasing, disbursement processing, and allocation calculations.
* The next meeting of the Le Sueur County Board of Commissioners will be Tuesday, March 19 at 9 a.m. in the courthouse in Le Center.
