Marlene “Gussie” Emmers, 80

Marlene “Gussie” Emmers, 80, passed away on October 14, 2018, at Methodist Hospital after an eight-year battle with kidney failure and being on dialysis. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 9 to 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. all at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.
Marlene was born on October 19, 1937, to Leonard and Gertrude (Laban) Gostomczik. She attended Montgomery High School and was united in marriage in April 1957, to Leslie John Emmers at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington.
She worked at Spors Company, Robb Container for 15 years, Central Health Care in the Kitchen for 10 years and Webers Drug Store in Le Center.
Marlene was a member of the Le Center Ambulance since the 1970’s and drove school bus. She enjoyed bowling, was on Bowlarama, Yatzee, bingo, painting and crafting.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leslie Emmers; children, John (Roxanne) Emmers of Blaine, and Bryan (Carrie) Emmers of Lonsdale; grandchildren, Tim (Rochelle) Emmers of Good Thunder, Tracy Jacobsen of St. Peter, Caley Emmers of St. Louis Park, and Jaden Emmers of Lonsdale; step-grandchildren, Nickole, Sheila, and Kyle; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jean “Tootsie” Foster of Montgomery.
Marlene is preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Dennis Foster Sr.
