Pat, the daughter of Chuck and Helen (Lusk) Keohen, was born on April 26, 1932 in Montgomery. She earned her teaching certificate at St. Cloud State University and later finished her Bachelor's Degree through Mankato State. After her father passed away unexpectedly, she left her kindergarten classroom in St. Louis Park to return home to assist her mother at the family newspaper, the Montgomery Messenger, where she flourished in her role as Editor until her marriage.

She married Lawrence "Larry" G. Rynda on September 8, 1956 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2004. They raised three children on the family's dairy farm where they instilled in them the importance of togetherness, faith and hard work.

Pat returned to teaching once her children were in school and worked as a kindergarten teacher, and later a substitute teacher, for more than 50 years. She relished in watching her young pupils grow, especially as they discovered a love of reading.

Pat was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast in her golden years, and enjoyed rooting on her grandchildren at a myriad of sporting and school-related events. She also volunteered at the Montgomery Public Library and Montgomery Arts and Heritage Center.

She had a lifelong passion for music and made sure each of her children and many grandchildren learned to play the piano. She was a proud Redbird booster and will be fondly remembered for the M&M cookies, kolackies and other baked goods that came from her kitchen.

She is survived by three children, Chuck (Anita) Rynda of Montgomery, Maripat (Darell) Schwen of Dallas, TX, and John (Susan) Rynda of Montgomery; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and two siblings, Tatty Malone and John "Jake" (Kay) Keohen, all of Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two siblings, Mary Hennes and Jerry Keohen.
