Seven teams have one loss in DRS

There is a log jam at the top of the DRS Amateur Baseball Standings after the second full week of play.

Seven teams have one loss, led by Prior Lake with a 4-1 record and Lonsdale with a 3-1 record.

St. Patrick, Faribault, and Montgomery have 2-1 records. Union Hill and St. Benedict are 1-1 overall.

The week began with three games Wednesday, July 8.

Faribault shut out winless Shakopee, 6-0.

St. Benedict defeated Montgomery 8-1. Nick Holland and Matthias Duevel combined to allow only a first inning Mallard run.

Carter Johnson tripled, doubled, and knocked in three runs. John Krocak knocked in the lone Montgomery run.

Prior Lake handed Lonsdale its first league loss, 6-4.

Ben Morrison pitched the first eight innings for the win. Isaac Pint allowed five runs in five innings in taking the loss.

Ross Beumer led the Aces with three hits, including two doubles. Jake Lehrer was 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Mudcats.

The Mudcats exploded for 14 runs in a 14-2, seven inning win over Shakopee Thursday, July 9.

Luke Weber was the winning pitcher and helped his cause by going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI.

The opener for the New Prague Orioles ended in a 2-0 loss to Montgomery Friday, July 10.

Johnny Krocak completed a nine inning shutout, taking a no-hitter into the ninth inning. Bryce Novak ended the no-hit bid.

Ryan Iverson knocked in both runs for the Mallards in the bottom of the third.

St. Patrick scored in five of the seven innings in handing Faribault their first loss, 11-1 Sunday, July 12.

Collin Denk allowed one run on five hits. He struck out eight and walked two.

Jordan Goracke and Ryan Friedges each had three hits and a pair of doubles.

Prior Lake made it a perfect 3-0 week with a 10-0, eight inning win over Webster Sunday.

Jake Schmidt, Zach Lovera, and Jackson Kesler combined to allow only one Webster hit, a Brooks Proschka single.

Corbin Cross had three hits and Jonny Houston and Alex Wattermann had two each. Both of Wattermann’s hits were doubles.

Phil Tisdel pitched seven innings to lead Lonsdale to a 9-5 win over Shakopee Sunday.

Ryan Roby, Dan Turner, and Marty Kalina combined for seven hits, four runs, and six RBI.

Zak Hoffman had a home run and two hits for the Coyotes.

Union Hill handed New Prague its second straight loss, 15-4 in seven innings Sunday in front of a COVID capacity crowd.

Conrad Masberg and Ben Novak allowed four runs on seven hits for the Bulldogs.

Joe Becker, Will Busch, and Masberg were the top hitters for Union Hill. Bryce Novak started for the Orioles and was also their top hitter.
