Clarence J. Malecha, 87

Clarence J. Malecha, age 87 of Faribault, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 28, 2019.  Preceded in death by his infant son, Andrew J. Malecha and siblings, Elaine Graff and Alvin Malecha. Survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Virginia; children, Linda (Paul) Meyer, Sandra (Tom) Saunders, Pauline (Dennis) Malecha, Greg (Renee) Malecha, Karen (Todd) Dalebroux, and Laura (Jay) Storlie; 15 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cathy Malecha and all other loving relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday, June 3, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale, MN. Visitation from 2-6 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019 at White Funeral Home – Lonsdale (507-744-238).

Clarence was born March 12, 1932 in Webster township to Frank J. and Lillian Malecha. He was the middle child of three growing up on a dairy farm in Millersburg. He attended a one room schoolhouse through 8^th grade and graduated from Northfield High School in 1950.

After high school he was drafted into the Army serving 2 years as a cook, in Texas during the Korean War.

Clarence married Virginia Salaba on April 24, 1956 and the couple farmed the land that he grew up on, until his retirement.

Clarence served on the Land O' Lakes Board, ASC, Rice County Mutual Insurance Board, Forest Township Board and the IC Church finance committee.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tri Lake Sportsman’s Club, American Legion, and Rice County Holstein Association.

Clarence loved to gather with family and friends sharing stories and playing cards. He loved his polka music and to dance with Clarence was to be twirled across the dance floor, literally floating along in his grip.
