Donald M. Entinger, 87 - UPDATED

Donald M. Entinger, age 87, of Belle Plaine, died peacefully at his home on May 16, 2020 surrounded by his family.  Don was born on May 18, 1932 in New Prague to Peter A. and Celia C. (Huss) Entinger.  A few years after high school, he entered the US Army and served as a corporal in the Korean War.  After returning home, he began his lifelong career in farming and purchased the farm that would raise his family in 1965.  He married the love of his life, Bernice M. Schouvieller, on September 8, 1967 in Morgan, MN and the couple raised three children.  Don began his dairy herd in 1967 and he maintained the dairy through 1994.  He also sold seed for Northrup King for over 30 years and then for Gold Country Seeds for another 15 years.  Don was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the knights of Columbus.  He served as a past member of the Board of Directors for the Belle Plaine Co-op and was active on the Scott and Le Sueur Corn and Soybean Growers Association.  A man of strong faith, he was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and served as an usher for some years.  Don enjoyed fishing and playing cards in his spare time.  His grandchildren were the center of his existence but even they admit that Reagan, Don’s faithful Black Lab, topped the list!  Don will be sadly missed by so many.

Don is survived by his children, Brian Entinger (Jill Gauby) of Belle Plaine, Julie Topka of Littleton, CO, Nancy (Pat) Toth of New Prague; dog, Reagan; grandchildren, Hannah (Evan) Flax, Noah Topka, Gabrielle Forrester, Paige Forrester, Kaelyn Toth, Carson Forrester, Nolan Forrester, Josie Toth; siblings, Patricia Prchal, Georgiann Havlicek, Roselma Soller, Larry (Marion) Entinger, Joann (Jim) Gensch, Peter (John) Entinger; sister-in-law, Carole Entinger; brother-in-law, Joe Schouvieller.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, on October 7, 2015; his parents; brother, Paul Entinger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 10 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.  Due to a maximum of 53 people allowed in church, please contact family for availability.  Masks are strongly recommended.  Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org (Facebook link).  Burial will take place after mass in the church cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the New Prague Area Veterans Honor Guard.  All are welcome at graveside where social distancing will also be maintained.   Memorials preferred to the Future Farmers of America or Ridgeview Hospice.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
