ENM businesses get updates at Chamber’s Lunch and Learn

Elko New Market business owners and residents were able to get updates from city representatives during the Elko New Market Chamber of Commerce’s Lunch and Learn, held Tuesday, March 26. Sponsored by Firehouse Grille, the soup and sandwich lunch and meeting was held in the Community Room at the Elko New Market Library.
There were 25 people who attended the inaugural event. City Administrator Tom Terry and Community Development Specialist Renee Christianson spoke first, providing updates on developments and recent ordinance amendments. They noted how there are developers looking at residential and commercial projects in the community. There was a presentation on a concept plan for the Adelmann property for commercial use. They also talked about the I-35 interchange and the work to get utilities out to that area.
Chief Juell did a Security and Safety presentation about a program done with the Chaska Police Department, where he had been a sergeant. He hopes to offer the program in Elko New Market to area.....
