ENM honors first responders
The Elko New Market City Council honored its first responders during a recent city council meeting. Mayor Bob Crawford read the proclamation recognizing May 20-26 as Emergency Medical Services Week. He presented Certificates of Appreciation to the city’s first responders, which included the Police Department, Fire Department and Northfield Hospital Ambulance Service.
Representing each department was Police Chief Steve Mortenson and Officer Craig Bell, Lieutenant Josh Wichner of the Elko New Market Fire Department and Paramedics Marlon Quiggle and Brian Anderson of the Northfield Hospital Ambulance Service.
“The individuals that serve in these positions are highly trained and committed to providing the highest possible service to the citizens of our community. These men and women work to make our city and county a safer place to live and by their service they help raise our standard of living,” said Mayor Crawford.
The proclamation noted that a great number of people during their time of need are treated each year by such responders in communities like Elko New Market across the country.
