Geraldine D. “Geri” Bell, 94

Geraldine D. “Geri” Bell, age 94, died peacefully, April 11, 2019 at St. Gertude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee.  She was born April 23, 1924 in New Prague, MN to Richard F. and Wilhelmine C. “Minnie” (Zoschke) Ruehling.  She grew up in rural New Prague and attended Scott County District School, Friedens Parochial School, Le Sueur County District School and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Otis T. Bell on October 17, 1942.  They farmed near New Prague and Geri moved into New Prague where she was a homemaker and worked as LaundrySupevisor at Mala Strana Nursing Home for a number of years.  Geri was a life long member of Friedens Lutheran Church, belonged to Friedens Ladies Aid and American Legion Auxiliary #45.  She enjoyed the outdoors, family activities, traveling, gardening and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Geri is survived by her children, Lois Bell (Glyde Burdick), Otis Bell (Mary Wilmes), Lynn (Larry) Schultz, and Lori (Dale) Otto; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by parents, son Paul Bell, infant son, and granddaughter Lauren Schultz.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11 AM at Friedens Lutheran Church with Pastor Henry Koch officiating.  Visitation will be in church from 9 to 11 AM Monday.  Lunch at church follows.  Burial will be in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery in Lanesburgh.
