Historical Society honors Lucille Nickolay
The New Prague Area Historical Society honored Lucille Nickolay for her many years with the society and her involvement with the community. The recognition of Nickolay was held Thursday, Dec. 12, at Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center. There were 35 people on hand, including members of Nickolay’s family, board members of the historical society and residents of Mala Strana.
Historical Society President Fred Simon read a few comments noting how Nickolay, a board member and the treasurer worked hard to help preserve the community’s historical roots and she left her own impression.
Historical Society board member Dennis Dvorak said he met Nickolay in 1974 when the community was preparing for the United States Bicentennial in 1976. “I spent many years working with her,” said Dvorak, adding she helped start the historical society in 1981.
