James Clarence Reemts
James Clarence Reemts of New Prague, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Marie, and brothers Ray, Gene, and Ronnie and sisters Shirley and Ann. James was also preceded in death by his grandson, Noah.
James is survived by his loving wife Joanne and his four children, Jeannie, Nisi (Tom), Chris (Kelly) and Colleen (Brian). James is also survived by brothers Dave and Bob; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Connor), TJ, Rayna, Ryan, Taryn, River and Wren along with great-grandchildren Rose, Tony and Caryline.
James grew up on a farm near Deer Creek, Minnesota. He then moved to the Twin Cities, where he worked for Dayton Hudson Corporation for forty-four years. He was also a firefighter and fire marshall for the city of Apple Valley before moving to New Prague.
In 1979, Jim and Joanne bought a small property east of New Prague, spending thirty-six years transforming it into a beautiful hobby farm that was a gathering place for the family. In 2015, they sold the farm and moved into town. They joined Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where James enjoyed his time on the kitchen crew.
A small service was held Saturday, October 17th at the family home gathering immediate family only, followed by a memorial parade hosted by the church. Both were captured and shared via Holy Trinity's Facebook Live.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund.
