Janet A. Busch, 90

Janet A. Busch, age 90, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, peacefully with her family at her side at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital Rochester.  Janet was born February 14, 1932, in New Prague to Math F. and Catherine H. (Solheid) Pint.  She grew up in the Union Hill area and attended county district school in Union Hill and then New Prague High School.  She married Ambrose H. Busch on July 28, 1951 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill.  Janet worked for many years at Chart/MVE insulating cryogenic tanks but was well-known for her smiling, outgoing personality at the West End Lanes, which she and Ambrose owned and operated together, along with her brother, Richard and his wife, Cyrilla.

Janet’s faith was paramount in her life.  She was a member in her earlier years of St. Wenceslaus CCW but embraced her faith throughout her life with watching daily Mass and saying a daily rosary.   She bowled in a league in her younger years and enjoyed many kinds of needlework.  Janet was always game for a good game of cards, often playing 3 times a week.  Her culinary skills were legendary and she loved nothing more than baking and cooking for her large family.

She and Ambrose enjoyed Canadian fishing trips and other travels.

Janet had a youthful spirit and defied her age with her ability to often run circles around her children!  She loved to have fun, possessing a unique sense of humor, and had no trouble making fun of herself, especially if it brought laughter and joy to others.  She embraced Facebook to keep up with her grandkids and her posts to them came in rather unique ways that signaled it was Grandma calling!  Janet will be missed by her family and all who knew her for her gentleness and kindness.  She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye!

Janet is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bob) Turek, Sandy (Roman) Seurer,  Ron (Deb) Busch, Randy (Jenny) Busch, Brenda (Doug) Witt all of New Prague; grandchildren, Matt Turek, Nick (MiuShan) Turek, Amanda Turek, Mike (Jen) Turek, Jessica Seurer (Fiance, Ben Steinessen), Kurt (Jessica) Seurer, Nathan Seurer (Tasia Scott), Stacy (Chris) Anderson, Brandon (Jen) Busch, Kristin (Tyler) Yahnke, Danielle (Aaron) Shetka, Rachel (Dalton) Schmidt, Sophie (Mac) Foley, Casey Busch, Hallie VonBank, Jon VonBank, Joey Busch, Melissa (Adam) Brister, Megan (Bryan) Jenkins, Tyler Witt; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bette Hoffman of Inver Grove Heights, Jim (Maria) Pint of New Prague; brothers-in-law, Mike Fyock of VA, Fritz Ruzicka of New Prague; sister-in-law, Lynn Pint of CO.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose on February 16, 2008; her parents; brothers, Richard, Robert, & Math; sisters, Judy Ruzicka, Genevieve Schmitz, & Mary Clair Fyock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father George Grafsky officiating.  Visitation will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM and on Tuesday morning from 7:30 – 10:00.  Private family burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.  Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org. bruzekfuneralhome.com
