Jerry K. Most, 81

Jerry K. Most, age 81, of New Prague, died suddenly of a massive heart attack on Friday, June 14, 2019 at his home at Praha Village. Jerry was born on April 20, 1938, in Ellsworth, Wisconsin to Stanley and Marguerite (Melgaard) Most. He was raised by his maternal grandparents in Ellsworth, graduated from Ellsworth High School, and entered the US Navy, having come from a proud military family. Jerry married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Lou Rosenberg, on July 7, 1956 in Ellsworth. Jerry spent 45 years in the electrical industry as an electrical project manager in both industrial and commercial projects mostly with Hoffman Electric and retired from Killmer Electric Company.

The couple moved to New Prague in 1969, where they raised their four children. After retirement, they moved to Breezy Point for 20 years and recently returned to New Prague in January of this year. Jerry was a Cub Scout leader for his boys and coached his children in softball and baseball. He was proud of the fact that he played basketball for his Navy squadron and throughout his life was an avid lover of Bud Grant and the Minnesota Vikings. His interests generally centered around the love he had for his family, including hunting and fishing and especially camping. Jerry had an eclectic love of music throughout his life that ranged from opera to rock and everything in between; there was always music blaring in his home! In more recent years, he also took an interest in sailing, especially on his brother-in-law’s sailboat.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; children, Sheila (Tim) Heinen of New Prague, Mickey Most of Gilbert, AZ, Craig (Doreen) Most of New Prague, Suzanne Most (Scott Truempi) of New Prague; siblings, Jacqueline (Jack) French, Vicki (Niels) Jensen, Kristi (Jimmy) McHardy, Karla (Bob) Rasmussen, Tony Most, Tammie Most; sister-in-law, Jan Most; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stan & Marguerite Most and step-mother, Mugs Most; brother, Gale Most.

Memorial Celebration of Life services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Diane Goulson and Pastor Ben Hilding officiating . Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to service from 11 – 1 PM also at church. Burial with military honors provided by the New Prague Honorary Color Guard will occur at Czech National Cemetery followed by lunch in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association bruzekfuneralhome.com
