Joyce N. (Lambrecht) Hertaus, 77

Joyce N. (Lambrecht) Hertaus, age 77, of New Prague, MN died peacefully surrounded by family on August 23, 2022 at The Lodge on Natchez, New Market Township, MN after a short battle with cancer. She was born on August 17, 1945 in New Prague, MN to Clarence and Mary Ann (Breimhorst) Lambrecht. 

A lifelong resident of New Prague, Joyce graduated from New Prague High School, married Raymond E. Hertaus on August 28, 1965 at St. Wenceslaus Church. She dedicated her entire career to Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague, where she worked for over 50 years. After the death of their daughter Lisa in 1967, Ray and Joyce went on to raise five children. 

Joyce was readily recognized by much of her community due to her long tenure at Queen of Peace Hospital and was known for being a kindhearted, sweet, and generous person. She enjoyed playing Tic, Euchre, and visiting local casinos, but her true passion was caring for her family. 

Joyce is survived by her five children Sheila (Paul) Kahnke of Savage, Tim Hertaus of Forest Lake, Jeff Hertaus of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Suzanne (Nick) Einan of Mahtomedi, and Jennifer (Ryan) Erath of New Prague; brother Bobby (Linda) Lambrecht of Hollister, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Nina, Bren, Brody, Riley, Hailey, and Pippie; and three brothers-in-law. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, daughter Lisa Ann (in infancy), and sisters Helen Zaun, Marlene Kubes, and Janet Rezac. 

Visitation will take place at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, MN on Sunday, August 28 from 4-8 pm and on Monday, August 29 from 8-9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, MN on Monday, August 29 at 10 am with Father Eugene Theisen officiating. Following Mass, burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague.
