Julia Bisek, 81
Julia Bisek, age 81, of New Prague, formerly of Minneapolis, died peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center. Julia was born on August 31, 1938 in New Prague to Julius T. and Albina M. (Kriha) Bisek. After graduating from New Prague High School, Julia moved to Minneapolis, worked for Donaldson’s for a short time, and then worked in sales for Dayton’s, where she remained until retiring at age 65. Julia had a kind and generous spirit, who supported many charities and was active in Incarnation Catholic Church. A ready conversationalist, she made friends wherever she went. One could always find her on her Tuesday bus trips to Mystic Lake because she was famous for her big straw hat. She loved taking long walks to enjoy flowers and birds. Julia was an avid bowler and was even noted to have a 277 game! She was a Minnesota Twins “super fan” and collected much memorabilia, such as books and bobbleheads. She loved time and travel with her family and her many nieces and nephews; a favorite trip took her by train to Canada.
Julia is survived by her brother, Julius “Sonny” Bisek of New Prague; sisters, Alice (Bill) Janousek of Jordan and Juanita Hartman of Hampton, VA; sister-in-law, Lynette Bisek of New Prague; many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Angie Ruehling; brother, Jerome BIsek.
