Margaret A. Bartusek, 81

Margaret A. Bartusek, age 81, of Veseli, died suddenly on Monday, May 18, 2020 after a short illness at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Margaret was born on July 16, 1938 in New Prague to Edward F. and Agnes A. (Valek) Bastyr.  She attended St. Wenceslaus Parochial School and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married the love of her life, Richard M. Bartusek on April 19, 1958 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.  Primarily a loving mother and a dedicated farm wife, Margaret also worked as a bookkeeper for Minnesota Valley Breeders Association and later as a waitress at Wild Outdoors.  She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the New Prague Czech Concertina Club.  A woman of faith, her church was important to her and she was involved with the Altar Society and the Most Holy Trinity choir.  Margaret was very much a people person; she had a happy heart and a gentle caring soul, always putting others above herself.  She enjoyed dances and polka music and especially enjoyed traveling to band gigs with her son, Jim.  Travel was a major love of hers and she saw many European countries, Canada, Alaska & Hawaii in addition to many of the lower 48 states.  Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life and they will miss her baking, cooking, gardens and the hugs and smiles for which she was famous.

 Margaret is survived by her children, Jim (Carla) Bartusek of Northfield, Rick (Cathy) Bartusek of Webster, Bruce (Jodi) Bartusek of Webster, Michelle (Mike) Leahy of Jordan; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Edward (Mary Alice) Bastyr of Prior Lake, Gerald (Shirley) Bastyr of Jordan, Karen (Jerome) Zweber of Beaverton, OR, Edith (Glenn) Svoboda of Prior Lake, Gloria (Leo) Jacques of Jordan, Ronald Bastyr of Jordan.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard on October 19, 1999; her parents.

 Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Veseli followed by burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Veseli.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
