Margaret Sticha, 71

Margaret M. Sticha, age 71, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. Margaret was born on September 4, 1947, in Shakopee to Jerome A. and Bernice A. (Wolf) Sand. She attended St. Mary’s Purification Grade School in Marystown and was a 1965 graduate of Guardian Angels High School. Prior to her marriage to William R. Sticha on October 12, 1968 at St. Mary’s Purification Church in Marystown, Margaret worked for Scott County Welfare. Bill & Margaret established their home in New Prague and Margaret went to work at the New Prague School District as a secretary. She took a 12-year period away from the school district while raising her children, during which time she operated a daycare in her home. She returned to the school district in 1983 and remained there until retiring in 2013. While Bill was alive, Margaret enjoyed fishing with him. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed playing cards with her card club. After retirement, Margaret stayed connected with her school colleagues with a monthly date for lunch. Margaret’s greatest joy came in following her grandchildren in their activities and spending precious time with them.
