Mark Allen Trittelwitz, 60

Mark Allen Trittelwitz, aged 60, died on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at his home in Apple Valley, MN, after battling a neuro-muscular disease.

Born in Minneapolis on February 11, 1962, Mark was the oldest of three children. In 1971, at the age of nine, the family moved from New Hope to New Prague. Mark graduated from New Prague High School in 1980 and then attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Most recently, Mark worked as a Senior Calibration Technician at Martin Calibration Inc. in Burnsville.

From an early age, Mark had a natural curiosity for discovering the inner workings of all things mechanical which would carry through to adulthood. A handyman at heart, he acted the part with consummate skill, always willing to help family, friends, and neighbors with projects and emergencies. Mark enjoyed reading and listening to audio books; was passionate about cooking and car racing; and loved his family and friends. For several years, he spent much of his time at Elko Speedway as a pit crew member with two racing teams where he was recognized with the Golden Wrench Award. In recent years, Mark spent summers riding his motorcycle, glamping, and snowmobiling in the winter. Quiet and introverted at times, he was affable and approachable and most often greeted people with a smile and a happy hello.

Mark is survived by his wife, Lisa Houle; sons, Gregg (Laura) Angell and Alex Trittelwitz; step-daughter Natasha Paulus (Tim); grandchildren Everett, Adrian, and Archer Angell; Lilah, Penny, and Graham Paulus; parents, Roger and Ruth Trittelwitz; brother, Paul Trittelwitz; sister, Lisa (Parker) Beck; nephew and niece, Ethan and Claire Beck; and former spouse, Jamie Murgic.

Services will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (SOTV), 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley on January 14 at 11 am with visitation at 10 am and luncheon to follow. Memorials to the ALS Association (als.org); floral deliveries to SOTV by Thursday, January 12 (church closed on Fridays).
