NPHS fall production fits the times

New Prague High School will have a fall production, although it won’t be a musical, and it will fit the time period that people are living in now. The show is “10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine” written by Don Zolidis in March of this year and is a mixture of short comedic plays.
Members of the cast are Micah Anderson, Kadyn Anderson, Abi Bartusek, Ayden Bertsch, Emily Chaffee, Kayla Chaffee, Clare Daly, Seth Dickerson, Charley Furlong, Sophia Huebner, Gabriel Juenemann, Jonathan Lake, Greta Madson, Arie Moen, Amara Prochaska, Ava Rivard, Jessica Sadusky, Noah Stocker and Dylan Vilt.
For director Ben Thietje and his cast this is a new experience as they had auditions online through Google Meet and he’s been doing practices online. It will be premiering on YouTube on two separate dates, Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Thietje started exploring earlier this year how they could have a school production during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Since about April or so I’ve been thinking about what sorts of things we might be able to do if a traditional theatrical experience wasn’t safe,” he said. “I came upon this script while looking for material, and I thought it would be a perfect way to still do something fun and theatrical, while also keeping everyone as safe as possible.”
