Open house and display highlight Scott Co. Library’s 50th anniversary
The New Prague Library, 400 Main St. E, is marking the 50th anniversary of the Scott County Library with an Open House from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, plus a history display.
The Open House will feature live harp music from 4-6 p.m. and refreshments. This is a free event and registration is not required. It is being funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage (Legacy) Fund.
The history of the New Prague Library is also part of the anniversary. Photos highlighting the early days of the library will be up through the end of November. The New Prague Area Historical Society provided the memorabilia on display. The photos include the library’s previous locations in New Prague, plus blueprints of what the building originally looked like before the two additions.
