Robert “Bob” Maurice Neisen, 74

Robert “Bob” Maurice Neisen of Webster, MN, passed away on January 26, 2024, in the loving care of his family at the age of 74. Bob was born on April 12, 1949, in New Prague to father Bert Neisen and mother Betty (Savage) Neisen, who predeceased him. Bob grew up in a large, loving family with 8 brothers and 4 sisters. He attended school in Belle Plaine, and after high school, enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country on the USS New Jersey until his Honorable Discharge.

Bob married Marilyn "Mary" Rezac on October 30, 1971. The couple made their home and raised their family on a farm in Webster. Throughout his life, Bob loved owning and operating several bars in Belle Plaine, New Prague, and Savage, where he formed a tremendous number of lifelong friendships. He was a driven entrepreneur with an unmatched work ethic who enjoyed farming and exploring the many business opportunities that came his way. He was also a proud member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. In his free time, you could find Bob around a card table or in a fishing boat with his closest pals, or driving around town visiting people with his "good dog," Einstein. The greatest joy and passion in Bob's life was his family.

When diagnosed with kidney cancer on February 14, 2018, Bob remained optimistic and dedicated to his work and family, completely transforming his lifestyle, and continued to be strong and brave for his family even through his final weeks. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Mary; his children, Lee (Sarah) Neisen of Montgomery, Jackie (Nick) Cavara of Eden Prairie, Matt Neisen of Elko, and Nick Neisen of Northfield; his grandchildren, Joshua, Stella, Grady, Piper, and Gage; and his siblings, Mary Jane (Butch) Schoknecht, Colleen (Ken) Rezac, Patty (Pete) Krings, Gin (Bob) Behnke, Ken Neisen, Dan (Lori) Neisen, Dennis Neisen, John Neisen, Charlie Neisen, and Mike Neisen. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bill (Willie) and Gerry (Shim).

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (116 Alabama St. SE, Lonsdale, MN 55046), with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. in the church. As a Military Veteran, Bob's ashes will then be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by members of the Naval Honor Guard. All are welcome to join the family in a Celebration of Bobby's Life at The Endzone Bar and Grill (10491 260th St. E, Elko, MN 55020) following the cemetery honors.
