Trojans win 2 of 3 at home

The New Prague Trojan boys basketball team won two games over the past week, defeating Orono and Hastings. The team also lost to St. Michael-Albertville. All three games were played at home.

The Trojans (11-10, 5-0 Wright County Conference) return to action Friday, Feb. 15, at Waconia. They host Holy Family Catholic on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Trojans 64 Spartans 39 New Prague jumped to an early lead and were never threatened in a WCC game against Orono Tuesday, Feb. 5.

"We got off to a good start and maintained a lead throughout the night," Coach Dan Peterka said. "We did a good job of moving the ball and getting quality shots on the offensive end. Defensively we were able to cover up for one another and we made things difficult for them to score."

The Trojans shot 54 percent from the field and outrebounded Orono 37-25. They were dominant inside, outscoring Orono 38-6 in the paint.
