Win streak reachs six for Trojan girls hoops team
Balanced scoring helped the New Prague girls basketball team win a pair of games last week, stretching their winning streak to six straight.
The Trojans had five players score nine points or more in a 68-43 nonconference win over Bloomington Jefferson.
Six different players scored eight points or more in a 69-58 win over Holy Family Friday, Jan. 24.
“We got great balance from all that played tonight (against Jefferson),” Trojan head coach Luke Swedberg said. “Offensively, that is what we are trying to achieve...balance. The more we progress into the season, the more we hope to continue the trend.”
Emily Russo and Bethany Vasecka each scored 12 points against Jefferson.
Katie Vasecka scored 10 while Amanda Giesen and Rachel Russo added nine each.
