Kayli Renae Hrdlicka, 29

Kayli Renae Hrdlicka was born March 5, 1989, to Fred and Rhonda (Prahl) Hrdlicka, in Pella, Iowa. She passed away on December 16, 2018, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Kayli attended school in Pella, and was a 2007 graduate of Pella Community High School. She went on to Northwest Missouri State University to earn a degree in Food Nutrition/Dietetics. She was also a Certified Specialist in sports dietetics and was a registered and licensed dietician. She continued with her education earning a masters from University of Kansas in nutrition science and exercise. She worked at the University of Pennsylvania from 2013 – 2016. Most recently, Kayli was the Director of Sports Nutrition for Florida State University.

Kayli was an avid runner and competed in college and amateur competitions. She still holds records in track and cross country at Northwest Missouri State. Kayli cared for people and loved her athletes.

On October 17, 2015, Kayli was united in marriage to Justin Garrard. She is also survived by her parents Fred and Rhonda Hrdlicka, her sisters: Takara (John) Schomberg and niece Keziah of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mika (Sam) Drumeller of Jacksonville, Illinois, and Sierra (Brett) Renaud of Sully. Kayli is also survived by her grandparents: Richard and Dorothy Prahl, and Chester and Helen Hrdlicka; her aunts and uncles: Rod Prahl, Roxanne Bibeau (Jeremy), Dale (Jackie) Hrdlicka, Daryl (Alicia) Hrdlicka, Julie Hrdlicka (John Frantum), and her beloved dog, Maverick.

She was preceded in death by her uncle Rick Prahl.

Funeral services were held on December 23, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Pella. Memorial donations may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or Bethany Christian Services. The Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
