Ava LaFrance is 2022 Miss Elysian

The 18th Miss Elysian was crowned Thursday, June 30 as part of the Elysian 4th of July celebration.

This year’s queen is Ava LaFrance, daughter of Joel and Nicole LaFrance. Her attendant is Katrina Brekke, daughter of Troy and the late Audrey Brekke.

Crowning the new royalty were 2021 Miss Elysian Paige Atherton and Attendant Mariah Boyd.

The Miss Elysian candidates performed a talent, showed off their casual wear and formal wear, and were involved in a question and answer session. Both Miss Elysian candidates did a vocal performance. LaFrance received the Talent Award.

New this year was the Junior Miss Pageant, which included Isabella Cage, daughter of Elliott and Lisa Cage and Madalyn Miller, daughter of John and Brandis Miller. Miller was named Junior Miss Elysian.

These two candidates went through the same process as the Miss Elysian candidates. Both girls performed a dance and Cage received the Talent Award.

Five girls were among those looking to receive the title of Princess of the Lakes, which was started in 1989 and is in its 33rd year.

Princess of the Lakes is Arra Schuldt, daughter of Tanner and Amanda Schuldt.

Her two attendants are Elizabeth King, daughter of Kenny and Brittany King and Gracyn Miller, daughter of John and Brandis Miller.

The other Princess of the Lakes candidates were Meredith James, daughter of Jacob and Ellie James and Grace Mead, daughter of Mike and Jessica Mead.
