Buccaneers help local woman in need

Members of the WEM football team took time out to pose for a picture with Charlotte Hager, who they helped move from her apartment to Traditions in Waterville Friday morning.

Less than 12 hours after their season opening football victory over Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, members of the WEM football team provided some much needed community service to a Waterville resident in need.

Charlotte Hager has been experiencing a health issue and because of her health, she could no longer live in her apartment alone. She needed to be moved to an assisted living facility.

When this was determined, Hager knew she needed some help moving her belongings from her current apartment in Waterville to Traditions in Waterville, which was only a couple of blocks away.

Her granddaughter contacted WEM Activities Director Jeff Boran to see if there was a team or school group who could help with the move. Boran then contacted WEM head football coach Sam Stier and Stier said they would be glad to help.
