Former Morristown man killed in accident in Alaska

Former Morristown man Brian Neudecker died in an ATV accident last week in Alaska, where he and his family moved last month. He is pictured above with his daughter, Brileigh and wife Rachael.
An accident last week in Alaska has claimed the life of a former Morristown resident.
According to an Alaska Railroad press release, Brian Neudecker, 45, of Talkeetna, Alaska, was operating an ATV near railroad tracks when he was hit by a freight train headed north from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
Neudecker, and his wife Rachael and 4-year-old daughter Brileigh had just moved to Alaska only a month ago.
According to Meghan Clemens, external affairs director for the Alaska Railroad, there have been six confirmed pedestrian deaths which involved trains in the last 10 years.
The Neudecker accident is still being investigated by the Alaska Railroad Police.

“What began as a lifelong dream for Brian, Rachael, and their young daughter Brileigh has turned into a life-altering loss.
After years of military service, Rachael and Brian, both proud veterans, made the courageous decision to sell their home in Minnesota and pursue a shared dream: to live off the grid in the stunning wilderness of Alaska. On May 23rd they set out for their journey to drive from Minnesota to Alaska. They made it to their new dream home in Alaska on May 31, 2025. Just three weeks after arriving, their dream was tragically cut short.
On June 23, Brian was in an ATV accident and did not survive. In an instant, Rachael lost her husband, his kids lost their father, and their new beginning was forever changed.
