Krueger named 2022 Outstanding Elementary Teacher

Kreuger

Long-time educator Juanita Krueger of Morristown has been selected the 2022 Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year by a committee from the Minnesota South District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Krueger was honored for her accomplishments in late January. She will again be honored Sunday, March 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Among the events will include children singing and playing hand chimes and Krueger’s 1st and 2nd grade teacher Helen Bunge making an appearance. Krueger is currently teaching in the same classroom where Bunge taught her years ago at Trinity Lutheran School in North Morristown.

According to Rev. Juan Palm, Krueger has taught a wide range of ages from two years olds through adults for more than 40 years. Her current students range from kindergarten to fifth grade.

“She is teaching children in the very school that she and her father attended,” Rev. Palm said. “Trinity Lutheran School and our families have benefited from Miss Krueger’s creative and enthusiastic ways of helping children learn. It is clear that the most important thing that the children will learn from her is that Jesus loves them. Miss Krueger especially enjoys teaching bible stories and her students love learning them.”

Some of the comments presented anonymously in the nomination of Krueger for this award are as follows:

“She goes above and beyond her presentations for class. Her bulletin boards are works of art. She treats her students like they are family.
