Kuball named Princess Kay of the Milky Way

Emma Kuball, a WEM graduate, was named the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Wednesday, August 23 at the Minnesota State Fair. Below, she is shown after being crowned by Montgomery resident and the 2022 Princess Kay of the Milky Way Rachel Rynda.

19-year-old Emma Kuball of rural Morristown has had a lot of experience speaking in front of crowds. Whether it be as an officer in the FFA organization or as Miss Morristown 2021, Kuball is an outstanding, outgoing, accomplished speaker.

Her personality and knowledge of the dairy industry has led to her achieving a life-long goal…becoming Princess Kay of the Milky Way.

Kuball was crowned Wednesday, Aug. 23 during an evening ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Kuball represents Rice County and she has become the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way, taking over for Montgomery resident Rachel Rynda, who represented Le Sueur County this past year.

“This has been a dream come true. I’ve dreamed of being Princess Kay all my life,” Kuball said. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to tell others what dairy farmers do every day.”

Emma, the daughter of Nate and Shannon Kuball of rural Waterville/Morristown joins a couple of other family members who were involved with the Princess Kay honor. Her sister Kelsey and her aunt Cassie were both top 10 finalists in past years.

In order to become Princess Kay, Kuball was first named Rice County Fair Princess. She was then selected as one of the 10 finalists for the honor. In August, prior to the Minnesota State Fair, there is another competition between the 10 finalists and the winners were revealed the Wednesday night prior to the start of the Minnesota State Fair.
