Linda Jane Schwartz, 80
Linda Jane Schwartz, age 80, of Waterville, died Monday, July 29, 2024, at Traditions Assisted Living Facility in Owatonna.
Linda was born on July 28, 1944, in Faribault. She was the daughter of Henry and Helen Arlene (Williams) Schwartz. After graduating high school, she attended Gustavus-Adolphis College in St. Peter where she earned her undergraduate. She later went on to attend the University of Minnesota where she earned her Ph.D. Following school, she moved to Indiana where she would teach linguistics at the University of Indiana for 10 years. She later returned to St. Paul where she taught at the University of Minnesota until her retirement. She loved gardening and volunteered with animal rescue for wild animals.
She is survived by her brother, Roger Schwartz; nephew, Jeff Schwartz; niece, Jennifer Bellrichard; great-nieces and -nephews, Lindsey and Madison Bellrichard, Hunter, Cameron, Cole, and Bailey Schwartz, Morgan Styke; and cousin, Bruce Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service was held Monday, August 5, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service – Waterville Chapel. Visitation was held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
