WEM Clay Target Team Awards announced
The 2024 WEM Clay Target season just wrapped up and it was a huge success! There were 66 members on this year's team of which 50 of them elected to shoot competitively with Clay Target USA which requires additional fees.
For WEM, the clay target season consists of both trap and skeet shooting events. There are other events such as five stand and sporting clays but currently there are no facilities nearby that can support them.
For the trap season WEM did quite well with Kymin Morsching placing 3rd in the conference, Zach Quast tied for 4th, Isaac Quast was 7th, Wyatt Janda-Jones tied for 8th and Thomas Hackett tied for 17th.
On the ladies side Callie Bruns earned 3rd place awards, Ava Quast placed 8th, Paetyn Judd placed 9th, Brooklyn Novack and Brooke Strobel placed 20th and 23rd respectively. In an unfortunate technical glitch that was uncorrectable, Addie Scheurer and Clare Landrum were denied top 10 conference placings.
At the June 16th Clay Target League state championships over 900 kids participated. Zach Quast tied for 7th at the varsity level and Addie Schuerer placed 4th in the junior varsity division.
On the skeet side, this was WEM’s first year of competition. We had six members give it a try of which Callie Bruns was successful in earning 3rd place conference honors for the season and Addie Scheurer placed 2nd in the JV division at the Clay Target League state championship on June.25th.
