Addison Scheurer win State Championship

The WEM trap season ended in Alexandria on June 15 with 36 of the 70 WEM participants competing for a chance to win a state title and Addison Scheurer did just that! Addie, a junior, hit an amazing 97 out of 100 clays to win the varsity female division.

Not only did Scheurer win, but she hit her last 67 birds to win a tiebreaker for first. The second place performer hit 16 in a row.

“Addie is super laid back while shooting and does not let anything get to her,” Coach Doug Androli said. “She is really there to have fun and do well. Callie Bruns and Addie have been pushing each other for years now to do better and it is definitely paying off.”

Callie Bruns, in her final trip, placed 11th hitting 92 of 100 birds. Other notable placings were Victoria Bruns, a 7th grader, placing 5th in the female novice division and Cori Johnson claiming 13th place in the junior varsity class. WEM’s top male shooter, Zach Quast, a junior placed 18th in the incredibly tough varsity male division hitting 96 of 100 targets. Two people shared 1st place in this division by hitting all 100 of their clays.
