Ronald “Ron” Morris

Ronald “Ron” Morris of Waterville and formerly of Faribault died Saturday, Sept.16, 2023 after an extended struggle with a degenerative neurological disorder.
Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Johnson, officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church for one and a half hours prior to the service Saturday.
Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Ronald K., the son of Kenneth and Lois (Brokl) Morris was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Montgomery. He graduated from Montgomery High School and Mankato State University. He then served in the Peace Corps., and later served as a house parent at the Minnesota Academy for the Deaf until retirement. He had a knack for connecting with the students and, at times, friendships continued beyond graduation.
Ron married Renee (Oppegard) Pavek March 24, 1986, in Faribault. He owned and operated Morris Taxidermy in Faribault for over 30 years, specializing in birds, deer and fish. Ron enjoyed time in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family at his hand-constructed cabin near Grand Rapids. He later moved to the country where he oversaw his five acre "farm-ette."
He is survived by his wife, Renee; two children, Nicholas Pavek of Faribault and Bailey Morris (and Jeff Coleman) of Rushford; two grandchildren Everett and Simeon Coleman; one brother, Ken (and Kathy) Morris of Holmen, Wis., nieces, nephews and many grandnieces/grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
