2023 Commencement Ceremony

Principle Alan Fitterer gives the words to the class of 2023 to celebrate their achievement in traditional fashion and the graduates respond throwing their hats. (Jarrod Schoenecker photo)

With the Tri-City United gymnasium in full attendance on the evening of Friday, May 26, the Class of 2023 walked in processional to the classic “Pomp and Circumstance” by the concert band. The posting of colors by the Montgomery Honor Guard and then the national anthem by concert band and choir.

Principle Alan Fitterer welcomed the entire group and Kaia Krocak gave a student welcome speech. Senior Danessa Buckingham directed the concert choir singing the Alan Menken piece, “Go the Distance.”

Superintendent of Schools Kevin Babcock spoke to the students and recognized the international students who were with the senior student body this school year. The concert band performed “How to Train Your Dragon,” the selected senior song. Fitterer presented the Class of 2023. School board members read the names of each student graduating and handed out diplomas on stage. School leadership, including Fitterer and Babcock, were ready to greet and congratulate students as they came off stage.

Graduate Aven Prigge gave the farewell speech and the night concluded with the retiring of the colors and recessional of the graduated Class of 2023.
