Company partners with TCU trades program
A company recently unveiled a program with local high school students that gave them hands-on experience with a career in the trades program.
Minnesota Millwork & Fixtures has been a leader in designing and building environments for the restaurant and hospitality industries. This includes design, prototype building, and installation of commercial cabinetry and architectural millwork. Products built and designed at the Lonsdale facility include wood, metal, and upholstered materials.
Company representatives worked with students enrolled in TCU’s Advanced Woods class to build wooden picnic tables. The wood for the tables was donated by the company, and its owner/CEO, Randall Rivers visited the class to talk about the tables and monitor the progress.
According to Danielle Duffey, the Workforce Development Coordinator for the collaborative effort between Cleveland, Le Sueur-Henderson, Tri-City United, and St. Peter high schools, the goal is to connect businesses with students.
