Girls earn second win of season

The TCU Girls’ Basketball Team earned their second win of the season, this one over Sibley East at Norwood Young America High School on Friday, Feb. 19.

Kaia Krocak was the Titans’ leading scorer with 16 points, followed by Sam Lang who also scored in the double digits with 14 points. Assisting them with the win were Jess Dull and Kaitlyn Lang each with 6 points, and Isabelle Factor’s 5. Charlotte Houn also saw some scoring with 2 points, and Sam Tiede added 1.

TCU 47 vs. Mountain Iron-Buhl 79

Titan Coach Don Marcussen was hoping coming off of a win the night before, the momentum would help push his team through when Mountain Iron-Buhl (near Chisholm and Hibbing) visited TCU on Saturday.

“We were competitive in the first half even though we did not execute our offense very well and finish for points on transition offense. The half-time score could very well have been tied,” Marcussen stated. “Playing from behind will wear on you as you are using all of your energy to catch up and not get into a rhythm. This led to not having much left in the tank after the first four minutes of the second half when MIB pulled away from us. We struggled running any offense at all against a very aggressive M-M defense on the perimeter and so we never got our inside game going.
