Jr. Grand Marshals named for Torchlight Parade

When they climb aboard their specially-designed float for the Torchlight Parade on December 2, Chloe Hart and Wyatt Harms are going to make sure people see them.

“We’re going to wave … a lot!” said Chloe.

“The Queen waves like this (palm down, as if wiping a table). I don’t know how the boys wave. I’m going to wave regular,” Wyatt said.

The Tri-City United second graders have been named as the Junior Grand Marshals of Montgomery’s 28th Annual Torchlight Parade that will roll down First Street, Montgomery, on Thursday, Dec. 2, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Chloe and Wyatt said they’ve never been to the Torchlight Parade before. However Wyatt, who is the son of Andrew and Skye Harms, has seen the fireworks from his parents’ business, Millturn Precision Machine on South First Street.

“I saw part of it once, but then I had to go to bed,” Wyatt said. “All I know is there are fireworks, and it’s dark.”

When he found out he was going to co-lead the parade, Wyatt got nervous. He wants people to see him on the float, so he came up with an idea.

“I can wrap my boots in Christmas lights, but that might break the bulbs. I’m just going to try anyway on these nice shoes,” he....
