Marlys Ann Hora, 83

Marlys Ann Hora, age 83, of Montgomery, MN, passed away at Shakopee Friendship Manor on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shieldsville, MN, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Timothy Sandquist officiating with visitation an hour prior. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date.

Marlys was born in Faribault on September 21, 1941, to Geraldine (Glynn) and Cyril Caron. Marlys graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault. Marlys was united in marriage to Donald Hora on August 1, 1964, at the Sacred Heart Church in Faribault. Marlys worked as a bookkeeper for her family’s construction company.

Marlys enjoyed sewing and knitting, collecting dolls, and spending time with her cats.

Marlys is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Arleen Roberts of Montgomery, Brenda (Chuck) Feilmeier of Plano, TX, Dwayne Hora of Mantorville; siblings, Dale (Jan) Caron of Faribault, Ronald (Faye) Caron of Faribault, Joanne (David) Decker of Rochester, Linda (Byron) O’Connor of Medford, Carol (Wally) Ahrens of Farmington, Denise (Mark) Aschenbrener of Hugo; and grandchildren Amanda and Victoria Roberts, and Skyler, Mac, and Ella Feilmeier.

Marlys is preceded in death by her parents, Geraldine and Cyril; sister, Janice Eyre; and brother, Thomas Caron.
