New church meets at Hilltop Hall

Montgomery has a new church.

Life Church, a new non-denominational church, has served the Montgomery religious community since early November, but the church’s beginnings started on a lakeshore in rural Le Sueur County.

According to Executive Pastor Doug Pint, the church began meeting in open-air spaces on Lake Volney during the summer. Life Church, which promotes helping one another as a family, now has a new, physical home at Hilltop Hall, 206 First Street N.

“Life Church is a Bible-based, family-building, fellowship-oriented, and non-denominational Christian church,” Pint explained. “Our motto is ‘Let’s do Life together.’ Our emphasis is on creating a church family that takes care of each other.”

The church’s founders have years of experience as former board members of other area churches. They include Deacon Mark Chicoine, Deacon Kathy Stark, executive pastor Douglas Pint, Speaking Pastor Kurt Schroeder, and Deacon Jessica Tietz.

“Each board member brings their strengths and talents to the church. Tietz, who worked at New Day Church in New Prague, brings her expertise in children’s ministry,” Pint said. “Mark Chicoine was a New Day board member. Kathy was Sunrise Assembly in St. Peter, then went to New Day and is a musician. Kurt was also at New Day and is our speaking pastor. I was the Campus Pastor at New Day, and am a musician.”
