Softball players earn All-State and All-Conference Awards
The Tri-City United Softball Team finished its season with an 11-10 record, ending in the Elimination Bracket Round 1 of the Section 2AA playoffs with a 3-4 loss against Maple River.
But the team still had successes post-season.
Three members of the team were named Academic All- State softball players. They are Rachel Rynda, Nikaija Young, and Isabelle Factor.
Two members were also named All-Conference by the Minnesota River Conference. They are Ellaina Novak and Brooke Blaschko.
Novak lettered on varsity in 2018, 2019, 2020 (COVID) and 2021. She hit .686 in conference play, with 24 hits, 27 RBIs, and four home runs. She collected 11 RBI & three home runs in a single game.
According to the MRC, she lead the team in OBP, SLG and OPS. On the mound she went 5-3 in MRC play. She struck out 33 batters in eight games.
