All Tri-City United High School music groups performed a spring concert Thursday, March 2 in the high school’s performing arts center (PAC).

The concert opened with a smooth piece, “Pure Imagination,” by the jazz band, which included a wonderful solo by saxophone player Aiden Miland. Encore Choir followed and then the concert choir. Three soloists in the concert choir switched off nicely back and forth with each other, matching voice tones in “Death Came A Knockin’.”

TCU’s concert band filled the stage to end with a very strong set of pieces. Concert band recently came back from a large group ensemble contest receiving a superior rating, the highest rating given at the contest.

Individual and small group solo and ensemble contest will be April 5 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Band and choir are in Florida through March 10, where they are performing at Disney and working with Disney musicians. Look for more on that trip after they arrive home.

Here are the upcoming performances for the TCU’s high school music groups:

Jazz Fest Concert - Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the high school PAC.

Pops Concert and Dinner - Friday, May 19 at 6 p.m. in the high school gym and PAC.

Music in the Park - Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park in Montgomery.
