TCU band and choir have Disney Sound Session experience

The entire band and choir group that participated in the Florida trip in front of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Along for the festivities included 60 band members, 16 choir members, 15 chaperones, and the Tri-City United music directors - Sarah Costello and John Sosa.

Tri-City United High School band and choir students had a memorable trip March 5-10 at Disney in Florida.

For some students, it was their first time on an airplane, seeing the ocean or even their first time leaving Minnesota.

TCU Music Director Sarah Costello said, “We had an amazing time on our trip!  We are so thankful we are able to offer opportunities like this…that we did some fundraising to help lower costs, and students got to experience such wonderful memories on our trip.” 

The group met for a very early 1 a.m. Sunday morning start to take busses to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to fly to Orlando, Florida.

Their first stop on the trip was Disney Springs, which is an area within the Disney complex that has numerous shops, restaurants and activities. The group had a pizza buffet and spent time in the pool at the hotel.

Monday the group went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. 

Tuesday was the real highlight of the trip, a Disney Imagination Campus Performing Arts Workshop Sound Session. Both band and choir students worked directly with Disney Teaching Artists, all who are professional musicians working in the industry.
